MACAM is an official continuous training master's degree jointly offered by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and the Universidad de Alcalá (UAH), with the collaboration of the Fundación Universidad-Empresa (FUE) and the Cátedra UAM-Auditores Madrid. It is a university training program with a highly practical approach that allows students to complement their academic training with real training experience in companies in the accounting and financial sector.
It is aimed at students with university degrees in fields such as Business Administration (ADE), Economics, Finance, Law or similar, and combines university education with an internship program that facilitates their integration into the professional world.
Study Aid
During the internship period, students receive a study aid. Partner companies, managed through FUE, offer a monthly financial compensation for participation in the training program.
Duration
The master’s degree lasts one academic year (60 ECTS) with an additional specialization option (30 ECTS), divided between classroom academic training and practical training in companies.
Schedule
Training is organized in person during morning hours, facilitating compatibility with seminars, internships, and company tutoring.
Training Plan
Includes specialized subjects in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate governance, and capital markets, as well as a company training program and the completion of a Master’s Thesis (TFM).
Degree
Upon completion, the student obtains an official lifelong learning master’s degree (90 ECTS) that grants access both to the auditing profession and to doctoral programs.
The MACAM program was created with the vocation of being a real bridge between the university and the business environment. Its main objective is to train future professionals in accounting, auditing, and financial analysis, providing them with both a solid theoretical foundation and practical experience in real work environments.
The master’s degree is accredited by the ICAC, allowing students with a professional profile to validate part of the exam for access to the Registro Oficial de Auditores de Cuentas (ROAC).
Since its creation, MACAM has trained dozens of student cohorts who today develop their professional careers in large auditing firms, financial consulting, accounting departments, and market analysis and supervision.
The success of the MACAM program rests on four fundamental pillars:
The involvement of collaborating companies, business tutors, and academic entities.
The students’ motivation to acquire specialized skills.
The commitment of the UAM and UAH universities to applied training.
The support of the Fundación Universidad-Empresa in managing practical training internships.
Accessing MACAM allows the student to follow a training itinerary adapted to their interests: professional profile or research profile. Both itineraries combine face-to-face classes with the completion of a Master's Thesis and a period of internships or applied research.
In addition to academic training, the program includes:
Seminars with industry professionals.
Training in technical English focused on accounting and auditing.
Practical workshops on career opportunities, ethics, compliance, sustainability, and transversal skills.
MACAM’s partner companies belong to key sectors such as auditing, consulting, banking, financial analysis, and advanced accounting. Thanks to the network of companies linked to the Cátedra UAM-Auditores Madrid and the internship management of FUE, students gain access to real professional learning experiences.
Every year, the companies participating in the master’s program organize presentation days, round tables, and meetings where they share their young talent needs, explain the profiles they are looking for, and promote direct contact with students.
Internship assignments are made taking into account the student’s interests, academic profile, and performance in the program, as well as the opportunities offered by the host entities.
