American Express, is looking for an Undergraduate or Masters level student to support the International Card Services, Spain Acquisition team based in Madrid, Spain.

Training Project:

The ideal candidate will join the Consumer and SBS Operations team in Spain, he/she will take part, along the team, in sales activities, and will learn to manage specific processes such as:

  • Interacting with other corporate functions (e.g. Global new accounts, credit risk) and the external telemarketing agencies and being tasked to monitor and optimize internal processes.
  • Familiarise with the Approval Rate analysis management process for applications of Personal and SBS Cards.
  • Gain experience in the operational activities in order to deliver insights to be easier the decision process for the Global New Accounts team.
  • To understand the daily metrics to the prioritization of the tasks for the rest of the team.
  •  Familiarise with the daily core activities to produce internal and external reporting and liaising with the operations units.

The intern will gain experience in the following areas

  • Project management skills with ability to interact following the standard dynamics within a sales management and process management structure in a multinational company.
  • Design, prioritize and deliver operative process in a complex environment.
  • Required knowledge of the main American Express products and services mainly in Acquisition Card and process related.
  • Critical thinking, tech financial environment and innovation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • You’re able to remain calm under pressure, think on your feet and proactively solve problems.
  • Good communication and relational skills.
  • Self-starting, innovative thinker who can provide team with suggestions and recommendations for process improvement.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient knowledge of Office tools (Excel, Power Point).
