Area Description

The intern will be part of the Corporate Accounting Team, within the Merger and Acquisition (M&A) and Financial Reporting areas.
The accounting M&A area is responsible for Financial Due Diligence on M&A and Venture Capital investments, among other tasks. When the transaction is completed, this area is responsible for integration of accounting tasks.
The financial reporting area is responsible for the Amadeus Accounting Policies as well as the preparation of Amadeus Financial Statements at a consolidated and individual level (among others).

Project Description

The intern will be part of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) and Venture Capital team participating in financial due diligences for share and assets deals, as well as on venture capital investments, partnerships, etc. The job will cover the transaction lifecycle, from the due diligence, acquisition, purchase price allocation, integration and disclosures on the consolidated financial statements.
Additionally, the intern will support the accounting team in the review of financial statements of group entities and in the preparation of year-end financial statements.

Accountabilities: 

Analyze financial information on financial due diligence and purchase price allocation reports, review the accounting and financial references in draft share purchase agreement contracts, draft memos on main and assess potential accounting impacts if acquisition is completed. Review financial statements of group entities and collaborate on the preparation of the year-end financial statements.
Has breadth  of expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Main learnings, competencies and skills that the intern will acquire:
- Analytical skills
- Understanding of business decisions’ accounting impacts 
- Understanding the financial due diligence process and how it impacts on other streams (legal, corporate finance, taxes, etc.)
- Communication skills.

Please note that the duration of the internship will be 6 months and may be extended for a further 6 months.
