Area description:

Deal Management is accountable for the approval process for commercial deals in TU. This entails ensuring that strategic guidelines are followed, and all relevant stakeholders are involved in a timely manner.

The team’s purpose is to maximize the deal profitability and customer lifetime value by shaping the best deal strategy in collaboration with Business Lines, Regions and Commercial Finance.

Revenue Operations Deal Management is a global team of 30+ people located in 12 different markets with a multicultural and open mindset.

Project description:

The internship role is about to learn about three main areas:

  • Transversal Deal Management activities – helping the different Deal making teams in the overall approval process and evaluation
  • RFP management – learning about RFP (Request for Proposal) process harmonization within the Travel Unit and generate efficiencies.
  • Data driven organization – learning with the different teams with some specific business intelligence support and feedback collection

Accountabilities:

Transversal Deal Management activities

  • Participate in transversal activities such as follow-up on exceptions, deals, and contract outcomes.
  • Support Deal repository update and analysis, competitive analysis.
  • Learn business case’s structure, escalation rules and the relevant KPIs (NPV, Gross Margin, Variable cost… etc) and participation in the deal creation with Sales teams (for GBA customers in principle but potentially also for Regional Travel Sellers team and Airline Solutions team).

RFP management

  • Contribute and learn with all RFP members of each unit towards the harmonization of the processes and look for efficiencies in their processes.
  • Contribute to the definition of the global process and new roles and responsibilities to be taken for each function on RFPs.
  • Learn how to collaborate with other areas on the definition of the RFP tools and SharePoint creation with right and aligned content to be provided.

Competitive Intelligence / Data driven organization

  • Contribute to the design of required reports and KPIs with Finance
  • Learn and contribute how to prepare performance reports by region / cluster, analyze reports and provide insight at segment level.
  • Learn how to identify risk and deviations vs the benchmarks prepared.
  • Learn and contribute how to facilitate access to main stakeholders (Qlik) to their respective data.
  • Contribute to prepare a follow-up and obtain feedback from Sales (surveys).

Learning:

  • The intern will be able to collaborate on the development of a new area into a big organization.
  • He/she will improve their coordination capabilities among different teams, build good relations with teams from different areas and generate a good atmosphere.
  • Be able to evaluate deviations and identify risks giving insights to improve the profitability.
  • The Intern will learn the important concepts around deal-making, business case modeling, and GDS industry.
  • The Intern will learn how to successfully work with different teams and departments in a big organization, build strong relations with other teams from different areas and generate a good atmosphere.
  • He/She will learn how to select key info and data that needs to be provided to the top management for decision-making.
  • He/She will learn and support the preparation of the Deal Desk agenda and documentation.
  • He/She will also improve communications and presentation skills.
  • He/She will work together with the mentor to improve his/her soft skills during the internship.

Requirements:

  • Computing: Office advance, especially excel
  • Languages: English fluent.
  • Other: Motivation, positive and collaborative attitude, willingness to learn, open minded.
  • Other key competences: Building relations, Accountability, Communication, Analytical thinking, Adaptability and flexibility.
