International Tax Department is part of Legal, External Affairs and Governance area (LEG). The main function of the unit implies daily activities related to international tax which consist, among others in: i) provide tax advise to all the Amadeus subsidiaries and different business units of the Group, ii) follow up and support in tax audits and litigation procedures iii) Indirect taxes: support the accounting department in technicalities related to the Spanish VAT and provide expert advise in international VAT issues all around the world, iv) Support the M&A team in the tax due diligences and v) review tax clauses of Amadeus agreements.  

The team is currently composed by 6 members who work hand by hand, despite the specific tasks are divided between different expertise fields between all. 

Project Placement

The intern will be involved in different projects such as: implementation tax automation tools for internal reporting, daily support to the global tax compliance project recently started within the group and project management activities associated with incorporation of new companies.

Additionally, to the main projects, the intern will support with all daily matters such as residence certificates, analysis of double taxation convention, preparation of reports, internal trainings and so on.

- Learn from regular (weekly) reviews of international tax regulations and developments, focusing on the EMEA and NORAM regions.

- Engage in tax analysis sessions to deepen understanding and learn alongside the group entities.

- Participate in the analysis of tax audits and inspections, working alongside external advisors to gain insights and develop critical thinking skills.

- Explore the use of the tax audits reporting tool to enhance comprehension and gain practical experience.

- Dive into the creation of group tax reports and analyses to broaden knowledge and skills.

- Get involved in understanding, implementing, and calculating simplification projects led by the tax unit to expand expertise and promote efficiency

Learning

  • General knowledge about taxation with special importance of international taxation environment (OCDE Tax Convention, EU Tax Directives...).
  • Capability of understanding new regulations, tax developments and its different implementation stages.
  • Ability to synthesize tax analysis and understand tax terminology
